Minds

Small minds discuss people
Average minds discuss events
Great minds discuss ideas

I first heard these words from a friend. Remembering this helps steer away from trivial thoughts.

Control over change

I first heard a version of The Serenity Prayer in the movie Mr.Brooks. Today, I heard it again on TV while channel surfing. These words continue to ring in my mind, because of their succinctness and timelessness.

God, give us
grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed,

courage to change the things which should be changed,
and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.

The Secret

A few people recommended "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne.

It goes somewhat like - Think good thoughts, Feel good and good will happen to you - in about 200 pages. It is based on "believing" in something called "law of attraction".

Positive thinking is good.

However, critical thinking is indispensable, when making important decisions.

If critical thinking is too much to do, it is better to benefit from the work of others like the one in this link below.

No good deed goes unpunished

A recent experience, reminded me of these words.

I looked around to find who came up with these words.

Happiness

All good things come to an end. So does happiness.
When it does, should it necessarily result in unhappiness ?

What to expect ?

I noticed that a few people found my gtalk status messages interesting.
I thought it might be better to have a snapshot of those somewhere.

Hence this blog.

Most of these are links to others' content.

25 to 50 % of the said. What about unsaid ?

About the importance of listening.

If we only listen to 50% of what is said, what about the unsaid !
